Week of January 8th

What we have learned and worked on throughout the week...

Reading Workshop:
One of our super-reader powers is "pointer power".  To help us become better readers we have been working on pointing to each word as we read.  We have enjoyed our new flashlight finger pointers!

Science: I can tell facts about winter.
We have been talking about winter and this week we focused on ice.  We enjoyed doing some ice experiments in class!  Your child might want to try some of these at home!

What does salt do to ice?

Insulation

Will it freeze?

Guidance:
This week Mrs. Dreher came to visit us!  She taught us how to move our bodies so that we can get our endorphins pumping!  This can help us get rid of our "bug feelings".

Secret Reader:
Mrs. Miller read to us!

Mrs. Reese, our assistant principal, came to read to our class!

Anna Claire's mom came to read to our class!

Corbin's mom came to read to our class!

Jack's mom came to read to our class!

Star Student:
Our "star student" this week was Anna Claire!  We have loved hearing Anna Claire read us some of her favorite books!  We learned a lot about her, her family and things that she loves!
